Women's Refuge month closes today

As we reach the last day of Women Refuge Awareness and Appeal month today 31 July 2013 we share with you their concerns over troubling trend of more brutal violence that their women and clients experience.
They respond to an average of one call every six minutes to the REFUGE crisis line 0800 REFUGE
More women come to them who are high risk and present complex issues which they cannot handle. “Many experience violence that is akin to torture and it takes significant skill and support to help them work through this abuse,” says REFUGE CE Heather Henare.
