Beehive Press Release: A new law passed last night could see up to 25 percent of Family Court judges’ workload freed up in order to reduce delays, Minister of Justice Kiri Allan said. The Family Court (Family Court Associates) Legislation Bill will establish a new role known as the Family Court Associate. The role will focus on a mixture of judicial and registrar’s tasks, in order to free up judges’ and enable them to progress substantive matters more quickly

Te Puna Aonui is starting work on sexual violence workforce capability frameworks. The trauma-informed sexual violence workforce capability frameworks for government and non-government agencies will be co-designed alongside tangata whenua and with input from Pacific peoples, disabled people, LGBTQIA+, older people, ethnic, migrant, and refugee communities, and children and young people. The first step towards developing the sexual violence capability frameworks will be to run a series of hui across Aotearoa. The Auckland hui has already taken place but there is an online hui on Monday 3 July 2023
