We are delighted to announce that we have concluded negotiations with the Families Commission and have a contract to provide the services of the Clearinghouse for the next three years. We look forward to continuing to work with you, promoting and supporting the use of research on family and whānau violence in policy and practice contexts.
The Clearinghouse released the 2014 Data Summaries in July. The data summaries are a collation of the most up-to-date publicly available data about family violence. Click on the link above for our media release and media coverage on questions raised by the data on Police response. We have also launched a new Statistics section on the website - see the Tip of the Month for details.
Other news, views, and happenings in brief:
- The Impact Collective's report: The Way Forward, recommends an integrated system for IPV and CAN. The report was written by Ruth Herbert and Deborah Mackenzie.
- Labour has released its family violence policy. The Government announced its family violence initiatives in early July.
- There are two upcoming election forums in Auckland: Women' Choice (19 August) and Women and Children and the Family Court (9 September).
- Applications for the 2015 Community Internship Programme (CIP) are now open. Applications close 11 September 2014.
- Overseas conferences coming up include the 14th MaleSurvivor conference in the United States (2 November 2014) and the Inaugural Asia-Pacific Conference on Gendered Violence and Violations in Sydney (10-12 February 2015).
