Family Violence Death Review Committee job vacancies

The Family Violence Death Review Committee currently has two vacancies:

Specialist – Family Violence Death Review Committee (Permanent)

This role sits within the Family Violence Death Review Committee team, and apply family violence content expertise to ensure the development and maintenance of a sustainable, quality, family violence death review system for New Zealand, with an emphasis on partnership, shared process, developing a strong evidence base and positive change outcomes likely to reduce family violence.

Key focal areas of the permanent role are:

  • Leading family violence related policy work on behalf of the Commission and in partnership with the FVDRC 
  • Providing an in depth understanding of the complexity and dynamics of family violence to all aspects of the family violence death review work
  • Ensuring the development of a systematic, sustainable, family violence death review process for single case reviews and / or the development of information collection and management to support case ascertainment and full dataset development on all cases
  • Fully engaging partners in the development and ongoing improvement of processes and in implementing change as a result of learnings
  • Ensuring that relevant data and the findings of review processes are gathered and provided for aggregated analysis through well documented systems
  • Ensuring best practice governance processes are supported, including the development of high quality governance advice to support the FVDRC
  • Leading and/or supporting analysis processes, as required
  • Writing reports and documents, including the Annual Report for the FVDRC, as required

The successful applicant will make a major contribution in influencing the sector, and making linkages between the strategic and operational space. Having knowledge of the Family Violence sector and being able to see things through a social justice lens is critical to the success of these roles, as is excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.

Specialist – Family Violence Death Review Committee (1-year fixed term)

This role sits within the Family Violence Death Review Committee team, and apply family violence content expertise to ensure the development and maintenance of a sustainable, quality, family violence death review system for New Zealand, with an emphasis on partnership, shared process, developing a strong evidence base and positive change outcomes likely to reduce family violence.

Key focal areas of the fixed term role are:

  • Providing an in depth understanding of the complexity and dynamics of family violence, to information collection, analysis and report writing
  • Ensuring the development of information collection and management to support case ascertainment and full dataset development on all cases
  • Supporting the relationships that will enhance and strengthen systematic information provision from relevant sources
  • Leading and/or supporting analysis processes, as required
  • Writing reports and documents, including the Annual Report for the FVDRC, as required
