E Tu Whanau, Pasifika and Ethnic get $8m for family violence
May 21, 2013 at 3:49 PM
Budget 2013 has given $8m for E Tū Whānau, Pasifika and migrant and refugee communities to address family violence over the next 4 years. She gives a strong emphasis to culturally appropriate models, practices and workforce development for these respective communities in violence prevention and intervention in families and communities. Minister Turia believes in "a culturally relevant, collaborative and inclusive approach to change what may often be entrenched and inter-generational attitudes and behaviours that have led to violence.” More on Hon Tariana Turia speech here
