Waitakere Family Court
Focus: The Family Court aims, wherever possible, to help people sort out their own problems by way of counselling, conciliation, mediation and to ensure the interest of children are represented. The Family Court co-ordinator’s role is to provide information in relation to the Family Court and specialist services such as counselling. Family Court co-ordinator’s liaise with and make referrals to counsellors, specialist report writers, social workers and lawyer for the child. They do not give legal advice.
