Safer Whānau Police Practice 5F: Presentation to the Waitākere family violence network

WAVES Trust are excited to be hosting a presentation from Police who will be sharing their new approach to family harm with the Waitākere family violence network.

The Safer Whānau Police Practice 5F model is a significant transformation in how Police will respond to family harm, with Police being trained to approach family harm investigations with a better understanding of the dynamics of family violence and a more holistic perspective around the issues impacting on whānau. Waitematā Police are in the process of rolling out this new training package, and this presentation is a great opportunity to hear directly from Police and find out more about what this new approach will look like.

When: Thursday 31st May, 10.00am - 12.00pm
Where: Opanuku Room, Corban Estate Arts Centre, 2 Mt Lebanon Lane, Henderson

Please RSVP to Amiria@waves.org.nz

This presentation is open to anyone working either directly or indirectly in the Waitākere family violence sector, so please pass this on to any relevant networks or contacts. Police are looking to work more closely with NGOs and key stakeholders as part of the Safer Whānau programme, so it would be great to have a diverse range of agencies represented.

Police have also provided us with some documents about Safer Whānau Police Practice 5F - click to download the PowerPoint presentation and infographic.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
