Victim Support Seeking Volunteers

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY AFFECTED BY CRIME AND TRAUMA?

 

If you would like to offer your time, skills and life experience to Victim Support, we are recruiting Volunteer Support Workers now. By joining the Victim Support team you will provide assistance directly to victims, family/ whanau and significant others affected by crime and trauma, including suicide and homicide. 

 

To be part of our team you will require:

  • Sensitivity to the needs of crime and trauma victims. 
  • Emotional maturity, patience and good communication skills.  
  • Weekly commitment to roster duty.
  • A computer and internet access.
  • Full driver’s license and access to own vehicle.

 

We provide:

  • Comprehensive initial training, specialist training in homicide, bereavement and sexual violence, supervision and a supportive and friendly environment.

 

The Initial Training Program will be held in June 2015.
