Together, reflect on progress towards Te Aorerekura’s shifts and what we’re learning.

Te Aorerekura – the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence sets a framework for our collective action.

Through the annual Te Aorerekura hui, government, tangata whenua, community and specialist sectors will come together to take stock of progress, share our learning and experiences, and agree what should happen next.

This year, the hui theme is accountability and transparency. The hui is an opportunity to build a shared understanding of Te Aorerekura, the Shifts it seeks to achieve, and how we can work together to deliver the changes our families, whānau and communities need.

The hui will focus on the six different Shifts, including Learning and Monitoring:

  • Shift 1- Towards strength-based wellbeing

  • Shift 2- Towards mobilising communities

  • Shift 3- Towards skilled, culturally competent and sustainable workforces

  • Shift 4- Towards investment in primary prevention

  • Shift 5- Towards safe, accessible and integrated responses

  • Shift 6- Towards increased capacity for healing

  • Learning and Monitoring

Hui sessions will highlight current work within each Shift, with time allocated for collaborative discussions on next steps.
