TANI General Network Meeting

The Asian Network Inc. (TANI) cordially invite you to their regional network meeting. 

 

WHEN: Wednesday, 26th August at 10am-12pm

WHERE: WESTERN SPRINGS Garden COMMUNITY HALL, 956 Great North Road, Western Springs, AKL

 

Program:

  • A round of introductions and networking from participants (tea & coffee available from 9:30am)
  • Presentation 1: “Where from to here for the Bowel Screening Pilot?”, Gaye Tozer, Programme Manager, Bowel Screening Pilot, WDHB, will provide an update on the four years pilot screening program and share the evaluation findings from round one of the pilot that recently completed. And what does it means to the community?
  • Presentation 2: “Informal and simple messages on Stroke”, Rita   Krishnamurthi, Cerebrovascular Diseases Research Programme Lead, National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences, AUT , will present an overview of stroke  including some research in ethnic groups in NZ and inform the community about a simple way to measure stroke risk by using an App.
  • Presentation 3: “What makes Kiwis fatter?”, Dr. Stefanie Vandevijvere, Senior Research Fellow, The University of Auckland,  will analyse the increase in food energy supply across mostly high-income countries like New Zealand and explain their subtle influences on an unconscious individual decision in relation to the weight gain that seen in most countries.
  • Update on community news: Any changes or new information from organizations, upcoming events, workshops, seminars and more.
  • Building more Networks & connections with refreshment
