Notice from Sport Waitākere - 

The Community Sport and Recreation and Healthy Families teams at Sport Waitākere have some exciting vacancies that we would appreciate your help to share amongst your networks. Two of these roles are dedicated Māori roles and the other working predominantly for Pacific communities. Below is a summary of each role. 


Māori Outcomes Lead – Community Sport and Rec 

Sport Waitākere has established a new and exciting “Māori Outcomes Lead” position to undertake this important mahi, and we’re looking for a passionate and driven individual to be a key part of our team and help us continue our journey towards becoming a truly effective Te Tiriti partner. 

The Māori Outcomes Lead will sit in our Community Sport and Recreation Team in a dedicated role to support both the internal capability build of our team and have a strong Te Ao Māori influence on the design and development of key projects and initiatives. To do this, the Māori Outcomes Lead will connect with our community to improve conditions that increase access to play, active recreation and sport opportunities, aiming to grow the representation of Māori across participation and leadership. 


Māori Communications Innovator – Healthy Families Waitākere 

The Māori Communications Innovator supports the team to harness the power of storytelling whilst successfully increasing community readiness and engagement with Healthy Families Waitākere. The role requires experience in utilising a range of media channels to showcase the stories of change in our communities. 

The Māori Communications Innovator is a bright and conceptual natural leader with a passion for story- telling and building narratives from a te ao Māori lens. 


Systems Innovator - Pacific 

The Pacific Systems Innovator will have amazing skills in working with diverse groups in particular Pasifika and driving co-design and collaboration activities to enable change at a local level. Drawing on skills of a natural relationship builder, we want people who demonstrate empathy and has a strong understanding of what mobilises others into action. 

This position engages key stakeholders and partner organisations (Pacific and non-Pacific) to create and leverage opportunities for positive systems change in settings where Pacific live, learn, work and play.
