Pacific nation ministers endorse action on gender equality and women's rights

The 13th Triennial Conference of Pacific Women and the 6th Meeting of Ministers for Women took place in Fiji in October 2017. The events brought together decision-makers from Pacific governments, development partners, research institutions and civil society organisations.

The purpose of the events was to review progress and identify strategic and practical measures on achieving gender equality and women’s human rights in the Pacific.

At the conclusion of these meetings, the Ministers for Women endorsed the Pacific Platform for Action on Gender Equality and Women’s Human rights 2018-2030. In addition, recommendations and outcomes from the meetings have been published.

The documentary, Sisters of the Pacific Ocean: Gender Equality 2030 (2017), was produced by femLINKpacific to give an overview of the conference and work to towards gender equality in the Pacific.
