Job Vacancy - NZDF Regional Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Advisor - Northern
*Closes 31 March 2016*
This role works to reduce the impact of harmful sexual behaviour in the NZDF by providing a coordinated initial response to victim/survivors who disclose harmful behaviour, advising Command on appropriate responses and helping to develop and facilitate prevention education and training.
You will be a point of contact for NZDF personnel who wish to disclose harmful sexual behaviour. It will be your responsibility to case manage both confidential and unrestricted reports and ensure that our people get the best possible care and support through specialist providers. You will also be responsible for providing advice and support to Military Command when they are managing harmful behaviours and leading prevention and education initiatives on military camps and bases. In addition, you will ensure that NZDF has systems and processes in place to provide an efficient response to disclosures of sexual assault.
To excel in this role, you’ll be experienced in the sexual violence sector and have proven case management experience. With past experience building collaborative, supportive and constructive team environments with a strong victim centric focus, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively reason and influence to avoid or resolve conflict.
You will be based in Devonport and the ability to travel domestically and work from other camps and bases within the region will be required, as well as some on-call after-hours work.
If you’d like to bring your skills and experience to this challenging new and rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you.
