Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence Factsheets
May 25, 2017 at 3:42 PM
*From Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence*
Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence has created a set of fact sheets to assist you with understanding and responding well to people in Rainbow communities experiencing or causing partner or sexual violence.
- Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence Fact Sheet #1: Partner Violence
- Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence Fact Sheet #2: Sexual Violence
- Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence Fact Sheet #3: Impacts and Asking for Help
- Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence: Power and Control Wheel for Rainbow Relationships
The factsheets are based on our community research, community hui and survey. Some summarise material in our report Building Rainbow communities without partner and sexual violence which was released last year (you can find the report here). One factsheet, the Power and Control Wheel for Rainbow Relationships, is based on behaviours that were highly reported in our survey, and also discussed inside our community hui.
These will be available on our website very soon. We will also be releasing some mini-reports, looking at violence experiences based on our survey responses, for trans and gender diverse people, disabled people from the Rainbow community, and bisexual and pansexual people.
Please keep coming back to visit www.kahukura.co.nz and feel free to pass these on through your networks - I am keen for them to be well used.
The work of Hohou Te Rongo Kahukura - Outing Violence will continue to be promoted through relationships with Rainbow communities and the specialist violence response sectors. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you can see ways we could work with you in the future to improve prevention and intervention responses for Rainbow communities.
