Child Matters: Diploma in Child Protection Studies
With the government putting the spotlight on protecting vulnerable children in NZ, never before has there been a better time to have a qualified specialist and leader in child protection in your organisation.
Child Protection specialists who are trained at an advanced level, can add a huge amount of value to organisations. These people provide expertise in child-centred best practice, and become a child protection ‘go-to’ resource for management and staff. In particular, advanced level child protection specialists can;
- FUTUREPROOF your organisation by offering expertise and leadership in the field of child protection and advocacy, in order to meet the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014
- Become multi-faceted experts in child protection, including policy development and staff support
- Critically analyse and problem-solve complex child protection situations
- Develop valuable networks with key community, government and media contacts
- Help offer peace of mind to the organisation by having the skills to keep children, staff and the organisation safe
The Diploma in Child Protection Studies is an advanced level training in child protection and advocacy, designed to develop leaders and 'go-to' child protection resources within organisations and communities.
Delivered solely by Child Matters, the Diploma in Child Protection Studies is a nationally recognised, NZQA accredited tertiary qualification, and the only specialist child advocacy qualification in New Zealand.
The Diploma in Child Protection Studies is taught over one year, structured as a blend of self-guided study alongside six compulsory 1-week classroom blocks throughout the year. These compulsory classroom blocks will be held in Auckland and Christchurch in 2016.
Who should enrol?
- Child advocates and practitioners wishing to enhance their child protection knowledge to an advanced level and extend their professional networks nationally.
- Managers and leaders responsible for child policy development and the safety and wellbeing of their workers.
- Anyone working with children wishing to become a child protection leader and resource person in their organisation or community.
Join over 400 graduates who have undertaken the Diploma in Child Protection Studies, and gained the skills, confidence and passion to make a difference to the lives of children.
