Annual Family Violence Intervention Study Day 2020 provided by Auckland District Health Board's Family Violence Intervention Team.
The first presentation, "Findings and recommendations of the FVDR 6th Report on men who use violence" sets the theme for this year's study day. See the flyer for full details.
The organisers have provided the following information about the day:
- We are aiming to provide the day face to face and via zoom. This will mean that if our Covid19 alert levels change we can still go ahead with the day. We still want to encourage as many people as possible attend the day face to face as the lecture theatre seats 250 people, it is easier for the speakers to present to ‘real people’ and networking is a very important part of the day.
- We will email a zoom link closer to the day.
- The day is free for you to attend and we do not have a budget to run the day so please excuse our ‘grass roots’ approach to the day. You are welcome to bring a gold coin donation on the day if you wish to and this will be given to Gandhi Nivas.
- The Superfino café at the Medical School will have extra staff on the day so that you can buy your coffee and food and drink requirements on the day.
- Across the road there is also a St Pierre’s sushi and a choice of cafes on Park Road. There are also eating areas for you to bring your own food and drink.
- There is no allocated parking available onsite. Please allow sufficient time to look for a park around the hospital and Auckland Domain areas if you are driving as these can be hard to come by and/or require a short walk to the study day venue. Find public transport and parking options for Grafton: at.govt.nz
- An agenda for the day is attached. We aim to have great speakers and topics that are relevant and practical for us in the health system.
- Attendees can print a certificate of attendance which we will email out after the day.
- We will ask our speakers if they are happy for their presentations to be available. For ADHB staff, these will be available on HIPPO on the family violence pages and those outside ADHB can email the family violence team if they would like the presentations.
