PETER TOEWSMANAGERHello, I’m Peter Toews (rhymes with “waves”), Manager of WAVES Trust. My role at WAVES is to provide advocacy, strategic advice, information and representation on behalf of the family violence community in Waitakere. I also manage the financial and staffing aspects of the WAVES Trust. Before coming to WAVES I have worked to support healthy families through strengthening families as a facilitator, advocate, case coordinator, a clinician with couples, children, and systemic family therapy modalities, school psychology, research psychology, health psychology and clinical psychology. Always learning I have obtained several degrees/diplomas including M.Div., M.A., and PhD. I grew up in the Northern Hemisphere but chose to live in New Zealand due its stand on peace issues, the Treaty of Waitangi, and its sheer beauty. Even though I have only lived in Waitakere for just over 7 years I am proud to be a Westie. I enjoy the wonderful WAVES Staff and Board and look forward to supporting the family violence sector with all my energy, optimism and support. |

JO RICHDALEPROJECT AND RESEARCH ANALYST
Before coming to WAVES I completed a PhD in History and have worked for corporates, small companies and NGOs in a variety of admin/accounting and project-oriented roles. I have lived in Waitakere for over 15 years and have loved raising my family here. In my spare time I continue to research and write about early-twentieth-century Pakeha New Zealand families. I look forward to working with you to help you access information and research on family violence in New Zealand. |
